AA Adds Third Daily MIA-BNA

Sun Mar 07, 2004 6:15 am

American Airlines will further increase non-stop service between Miami and Nashville. Instead of adding one daily ERJ-145 on 1 May 2004 to compliment the current daily MD80, American Airlines' regional subsidiary, American Eagle, will add two daily ERJ-145s.

New schedule:
AA 4489 MIA 1135-1255 BNA ER4
AA 3984 MIA 1752-1912 BNA ER4
AA 1422 MIA 2010-2132 BNA M80

AA 1033 BNA 0635-0943 MIA M80
AA 4490 BNA 1400-1720 MIA ER4
AA 3983 BNA 1840-2200 MIA ER4

American Airlines' currently operates one daily year-round MD80 flight and, this past winter, added a second daily seasonal MD80 flight. It was to be suspended at the end of April after the tourist season ended, but instead to Eagle flights will take it's place.

Very cool, but I am waiting for some international service. I think that the money is to be made outside the U.S..

Excellent! I'm very pleased to see that we're starting to get more service at BNA. With this and F9's announcement, we may get there yet.

Scotty,
Awhile back I expressed my curiosity as to why the 2nd S80 was cut from the schedule due to BNA loads doing so well. It certainly doesn't surprise me to see this addition. Big thumbs up

...rumor also has it that B6 is hanging around at the airport and that Independence Air (fka ACA) is all about certain for new BNA-IAD services once they cut the cord with UA.

Nice to have such a well-served airport!

LambertMan,

Oh yes, I see! So what are you think will cutback with BNA flight and it is good to come back to the business again. As for AA did doing well on their way to BNA with EMB-145. Mark will able know about those load factors is doing into the MIA hubs.

Regards!

The second S80 was cut because it was a winter-only service. Though loads were very strong, hence the new service. Even though it uses lesser-capacity RJs, the new schedules are pretty good for business travelers, except for the lack of a morning MIA-BNA departure. You'll be seeing a lot of stepped up frequency at MIA on many markets that were traditionally just a daily S80, like how AEagle added two daily MIA-CLT flights. Two new rumours I have heard this week: two daily MIA-CLE RJ flights to compliment the existing daily S80 and two daily MIA-RDU RJ flights to compliment the existing thrice-daily S80/738 service. For now, just rumours, but neither would surprise me if they became reality.
