HMY Getting A310's

Mon Mar 08, 2004 7:30 am

A friend of mine was on Montreal painting a a new 757 for HMY and was told that they just got 2 of Air Transat's A310's. I find that hard to believe cause Air Transat is dumping the L1011's for the A310. Can anyone tell me if this is true?

Last i heard HMY were looking at 767s to go with their 757s.... And Air Transat was dumping other a/c in favour of the A310... If its true that they are getting A310s I personally would be somewhat surprised...

CanadianNorth is correct. Air Transat is increasing their A310 fleet quite rapidly, and HMY will likely get 767's sometime in the future to compliment their 757's.

so then my question is... where will HMY fly them? Are they adding routes?

HMY plans to add Macau and China. Is there a chance that HMY will add a 747? as this route has tremendous cargo pottential.

767-300ERs would make much more sense so they can share their flight crews amoungst the whole fleet.

It appears HMV will be keeping 757/767 for crew commonality.

Is that might wil get rid of them with L1011s of AirTransat? It would make increase with the A310s aircraft. How, When or what? Is would still think about AirTransat will get added with their new aircraft into the future.

The last I heard from someone who works at HMY is they're looking towards HNL and OGG.

HMY just added another 757, C-GTSN from Air Transat. Yes HMY is looking at HNL and OGG, tentative start date is June 18. The owner of HMY David T.K. Ho has been quoted lately that he is shopping for four widebodys, no word on what type and where they will fly to, most likely China.

I did not think AT had any 757's left. That makes more sense then AT selling some of the A310's they just got to HMY. If HMY wants to get 747 or 767 or ever 777 now is the time. Lots of the Aircraft just sitting around

Now that you mention it i suppose with all those birds parked out in no-man's land it wouldnt be too terribly hard to get a deal on a couple previously enjoyed aircrafts...
