I really like Tikal's livery, it's great to see a second airline for Guatemala!
Actually, I remember Aviateca, now "eaten by" TACA, was really good, hopefully Tikal will be the "new Aviateca"!
Concerning Tikal Jets to MTY
, I think the idea is excellent. I have no doubt that such a route can be profitable, but don't you think doing that route via MID would be even a better idea? I remember Aviateca flying the route GUA
in the nineties with B 737-300s like 4x times a week or so, and it was very profitable (i used to live in MID during those years). Just then GU
got financial problems and they had to stop it. On the other hand, 6A
(Aviacsa) tried to fly CUN
with their Fokker 100 in the early nineties as well, but this didnt work out as 6A
was also facing a very bad financial situation, they even had to get rid of their F100 very quickly. So, if Tikal Jets flies GUA
, and if they could be able to get traffic freedom between MID and MTY
, then I would almost assure a succesful business. Then they would link GUA
with both important MID and MTY
, and at the same time the most important financial and industrial center in southeast Mexico (MID) and the most important financial and industrual center in northeast Mexico (MTY
). Nevertheless, I have no idea about permissions for foreign companies carrying passengers within two points in Mexico. What do you think about this?
