When is Starjet supposed to start service?

Sat Mar 13, 2004 4:36 am

I was just wondering has anyone heard when Starjet, cargojet's new passenger airline, is supposed to start service? Does anyone know where they are going to fly to?.

According to Transport Canada's registration database the a/c's base of operation is Hamilton, has anyone in YHM seen the airplane?

Just uploaded a pic of their B727-227 "C-GLSJ". It's sitting at YHM now with Starjet titles. Same livery as Cargojet.

I would be interested to know more information as well.

Cheers, Andy

Hmm, doesnt seem like something that will do well. The 727 can not make as much money flying PAX as it can flying cargo. The 727 will cost too much to operate. Livery looks ugly IMHO. Perhaps its a charter airline.
Why havent there been to much publicity on this airline. I think this airline will stay very small, and perhaps the demise of cargojet.

I hate to break this to you but a winter storm is on the way for Hamilton. Bad timing.

"From Monday overnight to Tuesday overnight we expect : 10-15 cm of snow."

From the Weather Network

Have fun!

Flug, what types of charters? High profile sports and/or leisure groups?

Will they be in direct competition with AC Jetz?

They will be in direct competition with AC jetz.

I don't understand when the plans changed from passenger charter flying to executive / sport flying.

Hope it works but I don't know how much business their will be for this type of operation. Someone better have done their homework.

I don't think they ever intended on pax flying at all as the charter market is saturated as well as the domestic LC market. They are flying the Blue Jay's as well as some corporate charter fights.

Starjetcanada.com's website is still not up and running??? At least my computer comes up with nothing. The following pics are now on a.net... pretty nice paint job!

These Boeing 727-200's have Canadian Flags on them and the word Canada in their title but are American registered. Does anyone know why?

One StarJet was recently painted here at miami. Sadly, it's another crappy livery.

The one pictured above, "N886AA" will bill registered "C-GDSJ" shortly.

The fleet will consist of 2 B727-200s. The interiors are equipped with full leather seats configured 4 abreast, full bar, plasma TVs, etc. I haven't seen the interiors myself though.

Starjet will apparently be flying the Blue Jays around for the 2004 season. Quite a coup if you ask me.

Well today Starjet took to the skies for the first time....

Airline Cargojet Airways Ltd.
Flight Number 402
Departure City (Airport) Hamilton, ON, Canada (YHM)
Departure Time 04/02/2004 07:19 PM
Arrival City (Airport) Saint Petersburg, FL (PIE)
Arrival Time 04/02/2004 09:20 PM
Remaining Flight Time 00:00
Aircraft Type Boeing 727-200
Current Altitude 0 feet
Current Groundspeed 0 mph
Flight Status Arrived

Looks like they went down to pick up the Toronto Blue Jays.

Flight Tracker lists the carrier above as the parent company Cargojet.

It was a Starjet aircraft that departed YHM at that time though.

I find it really interesting that their web site is password protected...can't generate much business like that.
