That's good knowing now that we can expect more new routes from them soon. Looks like they're now venturing into the leisure market more with possible destinations being Barcelona, Alicante, Malaga etc, seems their entirely business aimed destinations isn't pulling in anough passsengers.

I suggested Luxembourg, they probably won't go for it but both EDI and LUX are big financial centres and I know that the company that I work for could take a few seats on that flight each week. We usually fly through AMS with KLM to get to LUX.

Looks like good news for Duo though, and possibly further expansion at EDI.

In an article in Norway's biggest broadsheet paper today duo is analyzed by an airline industry analyst at Handelsbanke Capital Markets who says the airline has a niche product for the Nordic region and duo announces here that they will close down BHX-OSL due to lack of customers. On the other hand, they will feed passengers from OSL to BHX trough EDI in the future. The analyst elobarates and says that it's a weird combination they are offering. In this regard, he is especially focusing on the seat pitch and that most other LCC's and full-frills aims to put in as many seats as possible. Duo will also cease the use of CRJ-200 and replace them with the CRJ-700 on the EDI route. For the full article,

I put down Lisbon, as there is no direct service to the Portugese capital from Brum.

Eric, that is news to me, I know that they have been having trouble filling their planes, but I put that down to lack of advertising. Oslo is meant to be quite popular from EDI.

scottishladdie,

don't think i put it to clearly. they are probably closing down OSL-BHX because of few passengers. those who wish to go to BHX from OSL has to fly trough EDI, which sort of make them lose out on the point-to-point system if they are going to start feeding passengers trough other hubs. they will put in greater capacity on the OSL-EDI route.

Lufthansa is actually increasing capacity on MUC-BHX as they are replacing five flights with CRJ100/200s with three flights by Boeing 737-500. This is a net gain in capacity at the expense of frequency (same applies to MUC-MAN, btw).
