A330 With GE90's

Wed Mar 17, 2004 3:01 am

I'm not sure if this has been discussed before, but I was just wondering....
What if airbus designed the wing and engine mounts on the A333 to handle the GE90 engines used for the 777? Could this be done and if so, would the A333 be the fastest plane in the world and would it still maintain its efficiency? It is just an idea!!!

Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing! It's a bonus if you can fly the plane again!!

More thrust doesnt directly translate to higher cruise speed.

That, and any redesign to the A330 also means a redesign to the A340 (classics).... no way airbus could justify that, solely for the purpose of a GE90 option.
