Most Remote Destination Using Points

Wed Mar 17, 2004 7:35 am

Let's say you wanted or needed to run away from your present life for a while ... from friends, family, job, taxation authorities - who or whatever!

1) From where you live now, what would be the most remote destination on the planet you could reach and return from, with the frequent flyer points you have in your account now (and let's be honest here, OK? - no wishful thinking...), using your "host" airline or any of the partners in their FF program?

2) Using a reasonably direct and sensible routing, how many different flights would it take?

In my case, it would likely be either somewhere in the Orkney or Shetland Islands using BA (on 2 or possibly 3 flights), or somewhere in the far north of Finland using AY (at least 3 flights).

Let's have some fun with this one!

two years ago I used my AAdvantage for flying from Brazil to Nepal, but I could only reach Bangkok with the available mileage: GRU - MIA - LAX - HKG - BKK. From BKK I went to Katmandu
Brasília (BSB) - São Paulo (GRU) TAM
São Paulo (GRU) - Miami (MIA) American Airlines
Miami (MIA) - Los Angeles (LAX) American Airlines
Los Angeles (LAX) - Bangkok (BKK) [via HKG] Cathay Pacific
Bangkok (BKK) - Katmandu Thai
about 55 hours from BSB to Katmandu

by the way, I had to buy my return ticket...

I am flying KLM to Tanzania for my honeymoon using CO miles. That's pretty remote...

Because it is your computer. Threads you start are in bold if you are logged in. It is only bold for you.
