Sat Jan 29, 2000 5:09 am

Which aircrafts do you think will make it another 10 or more years and still stay in the programm of the aircraft-companies and which will be sorted out next, replaced by an all new design.
My list:
A320 familly
A330/340
B757 ?
B767
B777
Il86/96
will make it.
A300/310
B737
B747
will be replaced.

If Boeing goes a head a produces a new 747 varient, I think the 747 will be around in 10 years time.

IL-86/96?

I'd be amazed if the IL-96 were still being produced in 2010, -M or any other letter. Sooner or later, the babyflots are going to start snapping on the airbus hook. I doubt Russia will have much of a civil aviation industry left then, expept parts manufacture. I'd look for companies like Ilyushin and tupolev to scramble to design a competitive regional jet- it seems to be the last of the booming markets.

To USAir, yes I forgott to add the 717 to my list. I guess it will stay too. I think it has a lot substance.

Hi, here's my list (only of the two big guys):

A320 family
A330/340
B777
B757/767 (maybe)
B747 (new versions, i.e. a strech)

I think Boeing will develop a 737/717 replacement a few years from now, and Airbus will have the A3XX in then years' time, maybe a slightly updated A320 family, too.
I am not sure about the B757/767 program, it depends how many customers they get for the 757-300 and 767-400. They might also develop a 777-style replacement.

Regards

I think the 747 will still be buildt for long time since so many of them fly around and Boeing has to take care of spare parts anyway. Also it is the most known plane in the world and kinda Boeings flagship.
