Volareweb Expansion At Paris Orly

Wed Mar 17, 2004 9:48 pm

With the summer timetable Volareweb, the largest Italian low cost carrier, will expand its operations out of Paris Orly.
Bologna (BLQ) is the new destination they announced last week from Paris Orly that will get one daily flight. They also fly to others 7 Italian destinations (Bari, Cagliari, Catania, Palermo, Rome FCO, Venice and Milan MXP) and they improve the frequencies to Milan and Rome to 4 daily flights and to Venice to 3 daily flights.
Two planes A320s will overnight in Paris.

My doubt is how they got all the slots, since EZY is trying from years to get more slots in ORY.

Here their schedule for the summer from ORY:

Great, but i think they need to increase frequencies rather than new destinations. I hope them well  Laugh out loud

Ciao Mati,

Indeed they increased frequencies on MXP/FCO to ORY from 2 to 4 daily flights and from VCE to ORY from 2 to 3 daily flights.

Volare International has been bought by Argentine tycoon and former LAPA chairman Eduardo Eurnekian for 80 million Euros, and is said to be planning to start low cost flights between Italy and South America. Remind me on the connection between Volare Int'l and Volareweb.com.
How do you say "12 months" in Estonian?

Volare should put on-time performance as the #1 step to improve efficiency and passenger confidence.
I used to fly Volareweb between Rome-FCO and Bergamo-BGY (also known as Milan-Orio al Serio airport) but several huge delays of even up to 5 hours for a 40-minute flight forced me back to use Alitalia to Milan-LIN.
Besides the fact that today Volareweb is perfect for a passenger originating in Bergamo and going to Rome (twice daily flights, AM from BGY and evening from FCO) and not vice-versa, the only good point for a low-cost airlined is to performe on-time departures and arrivals.
It's definitely only good for travelers looking at very cheap or discounted fares.
I do not see a business target using Volareweb.

I also used for two months every week VA from BGY to FCO and back and I usually to be on time with the morning flight, but always (except one time) delayed at least 1 hour and half when I flew back. In FCO turnaround time need at least 50 minutes expecially when they use the airbridge to borad the plane, and taxing to runway at least other 20 minutes. Something positive is that even when I was booked on the 21:00 flight, if I arrive to FCO within 18:30 they put me on the 19:05 flight without paying any extra fee.
Indeed when I used them for one month every week on the BGY-BRI-BGY they were always on time. (Now they changed the schedule BRI-BGY from 1 hour and 20 to 1 hour and 30 minutes of flight time. Enough to improve on time performance since the real time on air on the BRI-BGY use to be 1 hour and 15 minutes, so if you add the taxing time the flight used to leave BRI on time and landed in BGY 10/15 minutes late).

I was surprised to hear that Volare was coming to Tallinn this summer.

BGY-TLL ---4--7 21.50-01.30 VA8372
TLL-BGY 1---5-- 02.15-03.55 VA8373

Strange, I think, because I'm sure there are larger markets in the Northeast Europe region than Tallinn is.

Anyway, it's a nice news. Too bad they fly at night.

Tallin and Estonia are very popular for Italian tourists, that's why probably they decided to start to fly there.
The timetable of this flight is showing that's designed for tourist and not for businessmen Big thumbs up

They made this strange timetable because to improve the utilization of their fleet this summer the last flight from FCO to BGY in spite to overnight until the next morning it will fly two time to TLL and the others time to OLB.

This flight is offer by tour operators in their holiday packages, so it's likely TLL will be very successful.
