Who Cancelled First And Why?

Thu Mar 18, 2004 3:39 pm

I was wondering about all these airlines that united First and Business into one class ie AC, CO etc.

1.what airlines made the move.
2.who are planning to make it. much more profitable is it?

I guess Iberia, Alitalia recently joined the list as well.

KLM was one of the (if not THE) first A/L in Europe to combine F- and C-Cl.
Many others are introducing 2 Class configurations on certain aircraft/routes (such as LX to YMX, SQ on their A345). Some destinations have high F-Cl load factors (LX middle east for example) so I guess airlines are still reluctant to get rid of F-Cl.

I believe they are all still "testing" the market... look at LH with their all-business 737 over the Atlantic. Even LX had such plans to offer an all business from ZRH to IAD.
