Family Airlines

Tue Mar 23, 2004 1:20 am

You might remember this start-up from the early '90s. From what I've read, it was nothing but a big investor scam that never got off the ground. It appears that they're planning to start-up once again and are seeking both management and investors.

Yes, it is. And according to their website, they plan to operate in 16J/484Y config.

You've got to see that web-site!

"FAMILY AIRLINES will offer non-stop economy class flights to and from heavy populated markets within the continental U.S. and Hawaii. By utilizing the very popular four engine Boeing 747 jumbo jet, these aircraft will seat 484 economy class passengers in the main cabin and an additional 16 upper class passengers on the upper deck for a total capacity of 500 passengers."

Have Boeing found their answer to the A380? It will be great seeing them fluing agaibn.

It's amazing to see that somebody would actually pay the domain fees for a joke like this - obviously they didn't have any money left to hire a webdesigner though.

I was hired for the second class of Flight Attendants for this airline way-back-when. We never went to training and of course the rest is (not) history.

This will be an interesting one to watch...

Hmmm... is it April 1st already? If this isn't a joke then all I can say is, don't bother applying for work as they already doomed to failure.

The plan is to offer primarily one class of service (sixteen Upper Class seats will be available per flight).

Do you think Virgin Atlantic will have a problem with the name of their Premium Class?

"The company anticipates 80-100% load factors on all of its flights with a break-even load factor of below 55%. Family's philosophy is to eliminate ?no shows and over bookings? while maintaining high load factors. The plan is to offer primarily one class of service (sixteen Upper Class seats will be available per flight)."

WOW, I HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH TACTICS EMPLOYED AT AN AIRLINE...THIS IS AMAZING....*fumbling for my wallet*..WHO DO I CONTACT TO INVEST IN THIS VENTURE?

Yeah, April 1st seems to sneak up on you earlier and earlier every year I guess...

I heard that the outfit was going to offer "family" flights from EWR to LAS. Remember when "family values" was all the voge? Remember Dan Quayle? (Back when there was only one George Bush?) Does Murphy Brown ring a bell? Does Abraham Maslow ring a bell?

Well, here's a *drool* look at history's dustbin....

And a look at the picture in the post starter makes me wonder why the AOC was denied.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
