UA 777 Configuration

Wed Mar 24, 2004 7:39 am

I noticed a 777 flying ORD-DEN this coming Saturday with the following seat configuration:

F:10
C:45
Y:198

Since when do UA 777's have 45 seats in C? I thought they were all 49.

There are 3 versions of the intl type planes. This one is type A or 1.

The domestic is one without business class.

that's the 777xp, my favorite one to work! It's the one with the lower lobe crew rest for FA's. The pilots rest is the closet next to the cockpit door and the video system is relocated in Business class. The first Class lav is in the center cross aisle as well compared with the 777c/i.

There is a polar survival suite in the attic over door 1 left in case we divert to somewhere chilly. This is the 777 we operate polar routes with. I have heard there are 6 configured like this.

As I've said, it's my favorite of all 55 777 we run!

Yep, while this is certainly the one preferred by crews, I hate it as a passenger (No Y+). You can find all three configurations on http://www.seatmaps.net.

Wow, learn something new everyday. I've been on more 777's than I care to remember. That's the first one I've seen like that since I've only flown domestic.

UA is installing Y+ on the Pacific 777s so they are switching the from F10 C49 Y215 to F10 C45 Y198 as they are installing Y+. Nosenumbers 29xx will go to 26xx. According to Skynet's A.I.R page, there are currently three aircraft in this new configuration; 2609, 2616 and 2617.

Just noted a mistake in my previous post; 28xx going to 26xx. 29xx is the new numbers for the 777-200ERs (N782UA-N799UA, N204UA and N206UA) which have already had Y+ installed.

Sorry, I have to correct myself here. Technically there are four different versions now and the F10 C45 Y198 does have Y+. I was getting it confused with the F10 C49 again (http://www.seatmaps.net calls this Version A). It's the only one I remembered having lower lobe crew rests.

I'll be flying UAL from LAX-HNL. Does anyone know which type of configuration would this route have ?

Do you think I'll be getting the itn'l config.? How often does United substitute their 777 to the int'l config. on this route?

You'll be in the domestic version : F34 Y312 with 2-5-2 in Y class.

As far as I know, only once in four plus years has an intl 777 substituted for a domestic on LAX-HNL. Others may have more info on this.
