Qantas Airways Cuts Fares from Los Angeles to Australia and New Zealand by up to 45% in Celebration of Three New Additional Weekly Services

Now is the perfect time to plan a spring vacation to Australia and New Zealand with Qantas Airways' "Red Tail" sale, offering the lowest fares for travel from Los Angeles to Sydney, Australia, and Auckland, New Zealand, as well as other cities. With savings of up to 45% off regular fares, Qantas is making travel to the South Pacific irresistibly affordable and convenient. Offering the most non-stop flights to Sydney, Qantas' fare sale kicks off celebration of the airline's three new additional weekly services to Sydney and Auckland. With 12 flights to New Zealand and 25 to Australia each week, Qantas now gives travelers 37 reasons to travel Down Under.

From May 1-31, 2004, passengers from Los Angeles can travel to Auckland from $349 each way, Sydney from just $399 each way, or Melbourne and Brisbane from $449 each way, based on round trip purchase. From March 28 to April 30, 2004, Los Angeles travelers can fly to Auckland for $399 each way, Sydney for $499 each way, or Melbourne and Brisbane for only $549 each way, also based on round trip purchase. Travelers wanting to take advantage of these savings must book their travel by April 8, 2004.

The "Red Tail" fare sale celebrates the launch of Qantas' three extra services to Australia and New Zealand. Effective March 29, 2004, Qantas is increasing service from Los Angeles by adding two weekly non-stop flights to Auckland, continuing on to Sydney, on Mondays and Saturdays. Qantas will also be adding one weekly non-stop flight to Sydney, operating on Thursdays. With the additional flights Down Under, Qantas will offer the most capacity it's ever flown to Australia and New Zealand, even greater than during the Sydney Olympics in 2000.

Passengers wanting to take advantage of Qantas' increased Los Angeles services and some of the lowest fares in years can book their travel today. These fares are available through a travel agent or through Qantas Airways online at www.qantasusa.com.

Tickets must be issued within 72 hours of confirmation of reservation, but not later than April 8, 2004. Travel must include a minimum stay of seven days and a maximum stay of one month. Reservations must be confirmed at the time of ticketing and tickets are non-refundable. All fares are subject to change without notice, may not be available on all services and other restrictions apply.

US/foreign taxes/fees of approximately $137, including September 11th Security Fee, are additional.

sounds like the same deals they do here in Aussie dollars - on the exchange rate, the USD$499 fare is about the same (on special)...

all you Americans out there, jump on the plane and head on "down under"!!!

I always find it interesting to see my home airline's advertising in another country! It's very similar to what they do here.

I do enjoy a spot of flying, especially when it's not in economy!

I wonder if ANZ or United will be able to match these offers. Any one have any ideas what the cost from the US to OZ is n these carriers?

Well united.com says that a Los Angeles to Sydney round trip in July is $US1793.61 return.

Half the flights are code-shared with Air New Zealand.


I do enjoy a spot of flying, especially when it's not in economy!
