Pilots Face Drinks Curbs

From Sky News: http://www.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30100-13032358,00.html

Tough alcohol limits for airline pilots, four times stricter than for car drivers, are on the way.

Pilots, cabin crew and air traffic controllers will be subject to a limit of 20 milligrams (mg) of alcohol in 100 millilitres (ml) of blood.

This compares with the road users' limit of 80mg.

The limit will apply to any aircraft in UK airspace and any UK-registered aircraft anywhere in the world.

A Government announcement this week will also cover professional mariners who will be subject to the same 80mg limit as road users.

As in the case of aviation workers, police will be able to test mariners if they suspect they are over the legal limit, but they will not have the power to test at random.

After Monday and Tuesday even the calendar says WTF...
