It's MD11 day at MSP. Besides the KLM arrival there was one World Airways MD11 early this morning and one more coming tonight. Both are technical stops for military charters enroute from HNL to FRA. WOA8546 arrived at 4:02am and left at 6:28am. The second flight, WOA8547, is expected to land at 7:39am and probably depart 2-3 hours later.

Allright, she's here. I got some pics while parked at the gate, and I'll shoot some more when she departs today. I'll then try to upload them here, even though they'll probably get rejected...

Please post them here when they're up. I hope you checked the myaviation.net box, in case they don't get uploaded to airliners.net.

I was at Don Pablo's at Eagan, and I saw it come in! Sure a beauty! I was gonna head over to the airport, but conditions are crappy and I figured I have all summer to shoot it! But at least I can say I saw it!!

I have about 12 pics of it that I'll upload. I just have to get them transferred to my computer first. I got some when she was parked with equipment and people all over her, and then some just now when she left. I'll try and get them online tonight, so stay tuned.

Continental, I know she'll be here every day this summer, but I kinda wanted to get pics of the very first scheduled KLM plane at MSP since 2001.

I good to see something new at MSP. The red tails are ok but you gotta like the variety.

Kai, must have saw you, saw a guy taking pictures of the MD11 tonight. I admit, i made a run from C-26 to G-1 to see it. (Had to run, the jetbridge was jerky and sort of touched the flight i was parking, no damage, but my friend that came in felt it a little, time for new ones) But he saw it when he was landing so we ran down, saw it. Pretty Bird Pretty Bird as my friend always says.

Then went, stopped off at CO, got listed for a EWR-IAH flt tommorrow on our first 777. Love aviation!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

I just noticed something yesterday when KLM was in MSP. They did not have NW cater them, but rather SkyChef. Wouldn't you think NW would be a natural choice for catering? NW did all the ground work however.

I guess it will be a few days until my pics are up. Sad, since I wanted to have them up there as soon as I could. I'm still waiting for my sup to send them to me ...

I was able to get a few shots of the KLM MD-11 taking off this evening at MSP. The KLM flight was next in line for takeoff when I made my way to Post Road. The parking area was nearly full with spotters. I park my car and got this shot.

It's funny, the MD-11 left MSP so did all spotters.  Laugh out loud

It's nice to see the KLM flights again at MSP.  Big thumbs up

No pictures but I was at the Fedex station between the new 1735 runway and the parallels and stopped to see it take off. Nice to see a different color a/c for first time in a couple years.

Ahh the return of the beauty. I can't wait till I go back to MSP and take some pics of her. I missed KLM when they didn't come. Glad to see them back, a most welcome change!
Cheers

Wonder how long the M11 will be around? I'll take what we can get though.

It'll be nice to see some KLM around here again. It's been boring red tails for a long time, now all we need is for Sun Country to pick up the pace!

Not related, but does XJ run their own ticket counter at MSP?

Pardon the distraction from that sweet MD-11 at MSP!

No, don't think so, I think Mesaba (Northwest Airlink) is at the Northwest ticket counter.
