Ghettoness 35,000 Ft In The Air

Tue Mar 30, 2004 6:15 am

hey,

we all know (especially us Flight Attendants) that we are very limited to items we can use on the airplane. i was just wondering what some of you guys do (either for urself or for a passenger) thats limited on the plane. Heres what i've done:

our planes (Jetblue if u didn't know that  Laugh out loud) do not have fridges. i've had PAX asked to have things chilled for them. I've placed iced in bags for them to place their food in to keep cold).

good ole MAXI pads: now these have A LOT of uses i've found! dip it in club soda to try and wipe away stains (especially wine). no worry about getting fuzzies on ur clothes like napkins or paper towels will leave. another use...if u do have unwanted fuzzies taken off...use the sticky strip side of the pad to take them off.

pre-packed coffee filters - very useful air freshener (if you don't have a real freshener available).

fresh unsweetened sun-tea: stick a tea-bag in a bottle of water (for those carriers that use the 8 oz bottles) and have it be in the view of a very well lit window. about 20 min or so later it should be all ready to drink. (add a little cranberry juice for some nice tartness  Smile/happy/getting dizzy)

i'm sure theres more i can think of but what things have u all come up w/? Lets have fun w/ this one!

Thanks anyway, but I'll leave the wine stains on my clothes  Smokin cool

Realizing that there isn't really anything you can't clean with club soda. I've even seen MX clean up the mess from a bird strike by going into the galley, taking a ton of napkins and club soda.

using the onboard wheel chair or (even more ghetto) using the insert for the water (on our aircraft it's stored in little metal box) as a seat in the galley for FA#2 since only FA#1 has a seat back there..
I reject your reality and subsitute my own

Maxi pads are also great for cleaning up floor spills. Just stick them to the bottom of your shoe and one pad will clean up an entire 12oz soda. I would call that super absorbant. Also, heating up baby bottles by filling an air sick bag with hot water.

Good luck finding a maxi pad. Singapore_Air probably stole them all for his 'absorbency tests'.
