737-500 Question

Thu Apr 01, 2004 6:23 am

Hey all

I was looking at flights from EWR-SLC and noted that on the 5h 1m flight, Continental has scheduled a B737-500. I am not a 2nd gen. 737 expert, but would this flight undergo weight restricting if it was full?

CO also flies the 737-500 from EWR to Albuquerque on Saturday's nonstop, in the Winter they fly EWR-Tuscon nonstop on Saturdays also but Im not sure if that was a 500 or not.

We've had some weight restrictions on the 500 here out of TUS on the EWR nonstop. Generally it was only able to hold about 95-100 passengers...not a terrible weight restriction. They were able to get around it by changing the runway they took off from. I know the captain told me a couple of times if we needed to fill the plane it wouldn't be a problem.

'They were able to get around it by changing the runway they took off from'

I always found that annoying with CO's WDR. Why can't it be produced with all runways. At Delta our WDR's have all required runway information on them and if there is any change of runways then the captain will just move down to the next runway.
It's a big building with patients, but that's not important right now.
