Binter Canaries Airlines

Fri Apr 02, 2004 8:39 am

Binter canaries is flying within the Canary Islands.
Does anyone have some information on the amount of aircraft in their fleet?
Once I was booked on a Binter flight from LPA-ACE, but the flight got cancelled and I was rebooked on a Aviaco flight.

My 2004 edition of JP states that Binter has 12 ATR-72s, of which 11 are -200s and 1 is a -500.

Wasn't the airline formed to 'save' Tenerife North airport as it lost so many passengers to the Southern airport?

Binter Canarias and Binter Mediterraneo were both subsidiaries of Iberia to serve the inter-island flights. Binter Canarias for the Canary Islands and Binter Mediterraneo for the Baleric Islands. Binter Canarias has since been sold to private investors and Binter MEditerraneo was integrated into the operations of Iberia Regional/Air Nostrum.
