No LH 346 On NRT-MUC?

Sat Apr 03, 2004 2:20 am

At the end of this month I will fly DUS-FRA-NRT and a few days later back to DUS via MUC on LH. Since I am booked in Business Class, I was already looking forward to get one of LH's brand new A 340-600 with the new Business Class interior on the return flight (I read on the LH website that the 346 will serve the NRT-MUC route from April 19, 2004).

Today I finally received my tickets for the trip, and a few minutes ago I just took a quick look into Amadeus (checkmytrip) but there I saw that an A 340-300 is listed for the flight.

Who is correct now, the Lufthansa or the Amadeus website? I hope that it is a mistake by Amadeus. Can anyone enlighten me?

Thanks in advance!

I think you could probably call Lufthansa and ask them what plane you will be flying on. I have had situations like this in the past. The airline website would say I am flying on a certain type of aircraft and then Amadeus would show a different plane. Every single time Amadeus was wrong. I can't guarantee you anything but given my experiences I would trust the airline website.

No LH 346 On NRT-MUC?

About 3 months ago I flew KIV-BUD on Moldavian Airlines. The flight is operated on a SAAB 340 every single day of the week except Sunday when the airline uses SAAB 2000. I looked on Amadeus and it said that Moldavian Airlines is using SAAB 2000 on that route every single day. Well, they were totally wrong. The F/A confirmed that when I got on the plane.

No LH 346 On NRT-MUC?

I just called the LH reservation hotline, they also have the 343 in the system, seems that Amadeus is correct  Angry.

Ok, I don't have to pay a single Cent for the flights, so I should not complain  Big thumbs up. Until now I only flew three times in Business Class on an intercontinental flight, so I give a damn if it is the old or the new one (although it would be nicer to get LH's new C on the return flight  Big grin).

Patrick

Edit: By the way, thanks a lot for the replies, guys!

Sorry to hear that you´ll probably miss the A346, Patrick.

But: Aren´t there a few A343s around that have been equipped with the new C-Class product (the ones that have been D-checked at ZRH recently come to my mind)???

No LH 346 On NRT-MUC?

Hi Daniel,

I didn't know that there are already a few 343's with new Business Class interior around, but I know my luck, I will get a 343 in the old configuration.

Such situations happen always to me, for example:

  • I have Biz Class (ID) tix, but I end up in Eco on two flights

  • I tried to fly thrice on the CR7 but every time I was a victim of a last minute equipment change, finally I got it on the fourth try

  • I only booked a DUS-CDG-DUS flight to get a ride on the A 318 but I got an A 320

  • I booked a flight from JNB to CPT to get another ride on the 727 (only had one before) but I found myself on a 734

  • Anyway, wish me luck  Big thumbs up.

    I'm actually flying MUC-NRT on the 29th April. I expect it will be a 343, but I'm flying back through Frankfurt from Osaka . . . you don't think I'd miss a 346!

Is MUC-NRT due to be served by A346?

I am on the flight on 8 June 2004.

    Regards Simon.

Sorry to disappoint you but the only A346 based in MUC flies to SFO!
You could change your ticket to DUS-FRA-YVR-NRT!
btw what have you done to fly for free to NRT?

MUC-NRT is scheduled to get the new C class from April 17.

Great news, I don't care if the plane will be the 343 or the 346 because I already flew on both, more important is the new C Class.

No, LH plans early 2005 with A346 on this route.

But they wrote April 19, 2004 on their website.

You could change your ticket to DUS-FRA-YVR-NRT!

I would do it, but my travel partners would probably not agree with the rerouting because not everyone is as mad as I am  Big thumbs up.

btw what have you done to fly for free to NRT?

I know someone who is working for a big German chemical company which seems to have way too much money to waste Big grin.

If this matters that much to you, check to see if you can re-route your ticket!
