BA- better service.

AA- more comfortable.

Generally speaking, if you're talking about economy class, I have found this to be the case. I think many will agree.

You can get your boarding pass from departure. This even worked for my friend flying LHR-CDG-JFK-Raleigh on BA-AA-AA with two different tickets.

BA are the best i have been on both in first class BA win, in business AA wins, in T/C they are both equal but BA win hands down on service and manners from crew.
And BA bar is free in all class.

The AA 777s provide more room than I ask for. They seat fewer passengers than other airlines on their 777s, only up to 245 passengers. Most tend to be a little higher...Delta is 275 passengers, United does 258. I interpreted this to mean AA 777s have more room than many other airlines' 777s. Can anyone confirm or support this? I have not flown the 777 from any airline besides AA. BA I don't know about their service, because I have never flown on them period, so I can't give an opinion on that.

The typical BA 777 only has 224 seats...14F/48J/40W/122M, it it actually holds less than the AA 777. BAs service is superior to AAs, regardless of the cabin you are travelling in. (Just my opinion, which is somewhat biased since I work for BA)

AA has the whole "more room in coach" going on, so that means its more comfortable in coach than BA probably is. BA's service however is superior to AA's. BA is my Favourite Airline  Laugh out loud. They have the best service, best aircraft, and best destinations. (I still love AA though, as my Username would suggest  Big grin ).

Mrwayne: "BA are the best i have been on both in first class BA win, in business AA wins..."

Mrwayne,

How does AA's Business Class beat out BA's? BA has Club seats that turn into completely flat beds while AA still uses the regular J class seats (that recline about 160 degrees).

I'm with BA001Concorde....maybe Mrwayne has confused AA Business with another airline!

In economy, I'm with the BA for staff, AA for legroom school of thought. And you can't beat free G and Ts!

Well...G&T to me means Gin and Tonic...but that could be just because I'm a lush  Laugh out loud

While I've never flown AA on trans-Atlantic and being BA staff I may be a bit biased, but I think the only place AA excel in is legroom.

Drinking laws on BA planes? If you're 18 you shouldn't have a problem. Not that they carded me when I was 16...

I had a drink on BA when I was 15. Seeing as you're in the 16-20 age group I'd be very surprised if any European airline didn't serve you a drink.

Definately go for British Airways - my experiences on them have shown really superb service.

In cattle car the "more room throughout coach" can really be a blessing - especially if you get a window seat with no one beside you. In first I don't think anything can beat the Flagship Suite, but that is not on all AA flights. BA has excellent cabin service and AA is generally just under that from my LHR - ORD experiences.

A few weeks back I flew on American Airlines from LHR to JFK. I was in business class and to be honest I found the seats very worn... They where not to BA's standard at all. The crew where nice enough though, better then BA's I think...

The look of the aircraft was ok, I mean, they both look the same to me. If I had to choose, AA or BA B772 I would have to say British Airways for Business & First and American Airlines for Coach

First-Despite the Flagship Suite, BA's first class is superior. It is constantly acclaimed and BA knows how to deal with First class passengers better than anyone.

Biz-BA's flat beds beat anything on a red-eye that is well...not flat.

Coach-I will go AA on this one. With only 3 classes in comparison to 4 you get treated better because you're 3rd tier, not 4th tier. MRTC makes the decision even easier.

It all depends on where on the plane you're flying.

Have a nice trip  Smile
