ATA is offering meals for sale on PHX
and west coast flights from Indy, MDW
. The salads and turkey wraps are great. The snack pack is full of candy bars and chips. For $5, it is a better deal than most airport restaurants. All the choices are in a cart and pass through the cabin right before the first service. ATA does not charge for the regular snacks/drinks except of alcohol of course.
It is still in its trial period, but it is very successful and most the of the customers appreciate the service. The hardest part is catering the appropriate number of meals. I hope it will be that the meals will be pre-ordered through reservations/web-booking, but so far it is not the case.
