AI Closer To LAX Launch Date

Thu Apr 08, 2004 7:36 am

Spoke with International Operations at TBIT and they're stating AI intends to begin LAX service June 11/12. No formal announcement yet, but since Int'l Ops is responsible for TBIT gate assignments, appears AI @ LAX is a go.

As mentioned on this thread, the plan right now is to launch 3x weekly LAX services (Tu/Fr/Su) starting June 11. All clearances have been received, union agreements have been received and tentative schedules are being finalized.

They have tightened up the proposed schedules from the initial draft I had posted here to a slightly later departure time, a shorter turn time and an earlier return.

Again though, this is still TENTATIVE and NOT YET FINALIZED. There will undoubtedly be some tweaking before the schedules are loaded, if only to account for the slot pre-allocations prior to SC114. However, flights should be officially announced by the end of this week.
