What Is Rule 120.20?

Sat Apr 10, 2004 10:02 am

Can anyone explain to me what Rule 120.20 is? My understanding is that the airline you are booked on has to endorse your ticket over to the other airlines who's flight you're going to take. However, under what circumstances is it used? Thanks!

This topic is touched upon in another thread:

Rule 120.20 is an agreement between two airlines to transfer pax between the two airlines.

As a comparision, the "Rule 240" (http://www.mytravelrights.com/travellaw.cfm?ai=3) is a contract between you and the airlines to transfer you to another carrier in the case of maint. or other non-force majeure event.

Therefore, Rule 240 is between you and carrier, and 120.20 is between the two carriers.
