Strange And Funny Radio Transmissions

Sat Apr 10, 2004 10:00 pm

I know that this topic was brought up before , but I think it is really worth it to bring it up again.

So what's the funniest and strangest radio transmissions you have heard between ATC and the flight deck crew ?!

Baseball game scores and a local AM radio station frequency. Coming in to ORD from SFO on UA B744, mid-october. Then they played the AM radio station over the IFE Channel 9.

TWR: "American XXX, follow the company Fokker on 3 mile final, clear to land"
American: "I've got that Fokker in site, clear to land RWY XX"

Pause...

American: "I always wanted to say that".

There's an audio clip of this somewhere on the net.

This is paraphrased from the British Airways 747 that flew into the volcanic cloud back in the 80s

Speedbird 9: We have lost 4 engines, repeat all four engines have failed.

Tower: Speedbird 9, do you have a problem?

MAN O MAN HAS THIS BEEN COVERED!

I'll just post a few that I've seen here on a.net;

A Boeing 747 was taxing to the active infront of a C5-a galaxy .

ATC "XXX cleared to XXR via XXX follow 744 to the active"

C-5a to 744 "Uhhh XXX whats your gross?"

Not to be out done the 744 replies

744 to G5 "about 200,000 a year how about you"

--------------------------------------------------------

A 747 was on approach when ATC says

"XXX go around for wake turbulence"

747 "uhhh what is the cause for this wake turbulence?"

ATC "A bigger jet than you"

747 "They don't come much bigger sir"

ATC "How about a B-52?"

747 "Going around XXX"

--------------------------------------------------------

After reaching their cursing attitlude the F/O comes over a give the usual talk.

"BLA BLA BLA OH MY GOD!!!!!"

With the pax scared s---less and the F/A wondering whats going on the f/o comes back.

"Sorry about that spilt my coffee"

--------------------------------------------------------

Just a few that I've heard. They are probably a little off but you get the big picture.

And to those that say this should be deleted I say shhhhh b/c there seem to be new ones every time a new thread is started.

Innocuous Fox

Humor threads get buried all the time and new members come and don't see the other thread's that we have seen. Don't be so "poo poo" about.

Lighter Side

This one happened to a student and instructor from our aeroclub one day during practice approach's

Cedar Rapids approach, this warrior Nxxxx

Cedar: Warrior Nxxxx squawk 0210, ident, say intentions

Nxxxx: Warrior Nxxxx would like to do 2 ILS, 3 VOR's, a LOC, 2 NDB's, and then return to green castle

Cedar: Warrior Nxxxx roger, would you like fries with that?!
