Southern Air

Is this a cargo airline or what? I've never seen or heard of this airlines but they're bringing a 742 into DFW today. Anyone have any info. on this?

I think it's a reincarnation of Southern Air Transport and is based at Rickenbacker in Columbus.

Yes Southern Air Transport is a Charter Cargo Carrier. They like Evergreen, Kalitta Air, and others. They're frequently in and out of US military bases bringing cargo and supplies to the forces in Iraq.

I wonder if, like SAT and Evergreen suppossedly are, they are free of past government ties?

Southern Air has been coming in around midnight and is parking over at west cargo area next to Lufthansa and China Air cargo. They have been coming in for about 3 weeks now.
