Service Question On UA173

Tue Apr 20, 2004 10:42 am

I'm flying on UA173 from BOS to SFO on May 15. The flight leaves BOS at 8.15am.
The itinerary I got indicates that we'll get "breakfast". Does anybody know whether
"breakfast" means "a small muffin and a coffee" or something more substantial?
Another way to ask the question: shall I have a good breakfast before I get on
the flight so that I do not starve for the next six hours?

Any information is appreciated. Thanks in advance,

Tony

PS I should have said that I'll be in coach...

It's been my general experience on transcons that breakfast consists of a small plastic bowl of cereal, a banana, muffin (on some occasions we've actually had pancakes, eggs, and waffles though but that is becoming rare these days). I'd expect the cereal, fruit, and a muffin as the norm though. While these items are usually good, the portions are never enough in my opinion. Be sure to have a small breakfast before you get onto the flight, and the breakfast served inflight should hold your hunger cravings over for the duration.

Edit: And on second thought, combination sandwiches (such as bacon, egg, and cheese on an english muffin) are also becoming a hot breakfast item on airlines.
