Eagle ERJ-145 Off The Runway At ORD

Thu Apr 22, 2004 7:15 am

Last night my dad was at work (AA @ORD) and told me that an AE ERJ-145 went off the runway (14R). Apparently the pilots couldnt manage to turn off the taxi way in time or was still going to fast and went off the side of the runway. As far as he knows the nose gear was stuck in the mud.

Anyone confirm or know anything about it?

Interesting, I was there last night and didn't see anything of it. We landed on 14R on and MD-80 around 6:30. However it started pouring from about 7:30pm onward. When we left around 9pm on an ERJ-145 it was really coming down, but there was a huge line-up of traffic and the pilot said we had an unusually long taxi to 14L and there was quite a line of traffic heading there.

No it wasn't directed to towards you it was just for the general public to see. ASL is alot different then jsut sign language believe me. I've learned that learning what is known as "The world's most exciting foreign language" from a professor who has been deaf his entire life this semester.
scotty enjoys posting it makes him feel good and he can show his intrest in the aviation industry.
We try to make out what we can and usually hellpost again on the same topic after a few people write a little and then usually get where he's headin with it all.

I also extend my apologies, because I was unaware that ScottyAir was deaf before I posted. However, I still agree Aviar.

Awesome. I've been a real A$$. I've done exactly what I would criticize on any other day. Scotty, please don't let me interfere. You've got a great thing we all share: a passion for the greatest thing on earth, aviation. Let it loose here.

Dance!

We're still not sure if it even happened. However, you could go search for some info and the details and report back to us if you wanted.

I was just under the assumption that this site was for the acquisition of aviation related information not blasting on some guy. Check the topic title no where in there does it mention verbally blasting the disabled. I don't live in Chicago and was just curious it's too bad this site has been taken over by teenagers that don't know anything anyway. If anyone gets any good information please post I'm sure there are some people interested in the topic as published.

I think what ScottysAir is saying is...
Is the problems with the nose gear damaged beyond repair or can it be fixed?

Id be curious on the time that took place. I got off work at 7pm cst @ ohare. Around 7:20pm they were still using 14R. There were also severe storms around the chicago area yesterday around the same time hence the back up of airplanes on the taxiways.

Thu Apr 22, 2004 10:56 pm

I just came back to work today and found out we have N500AE CRJ-700 down for maintenance @ ORD. It went off runway 14R and its waiting for a landing gear valve and a FDR download.

Years back I remember flying into ORD and seeing them pull a new AA 738 that ran off a taxiway as we went by. They were using inflatable airbags, boards, tugs, ropes, you name it.
