Yes, It appears that all of the shades on the windows have been pulled down. For what reason, I have no idea.
Perhaps the pilot was able to grease it on without waking the sleeping pax.
It's anybody's guess.

If it is not just reflections in the windows I am sure it is an empty flight. No way everybody would keep their shades closed during landing even if they were asked to.

Most flights I have been on they tell you to open all the shades on landing and takeoff!
After Monday and Tuesday even the calendar says WTF...

Sometimes on hot days the shades are closed if the aircraft will be on the ground for a while.

Maybe its a ferry flight and the flight crew is basically trying to get some last minute sleep before positioning. Done it tons of times, and trust me, the sun can really be your worst enemy from getting a few extra hours of sleep.

Forgive me if this has been discussed before....

I've heard that pax get asked to close their shades on some long-haul trips on some airlines.

Why is that?
What if you really want to look out the window?

Air India ask you to shut the windows on some of their day time flights when they show movies on board, its annoying if you want to read and don't want to watch the movie.

I say it's a reposition flight with no passengers. Closing the shades help keep the plane cool.

That's interesting!

SQ FA's I know wake everyone up (happened to me before) if they are sleeping to tell them to open their windows in order to get them all open, this is due to the fact I am told in case of an emergency on landing (like an engine catching on fire, etc.) that they can see the problem and react quicker than if they were closed. Many other airlines practice similar policies of open window shades on takeoff and landing.

On Military Charter flights into what are designated 'hostile fire zones' you have to put the shades down, you have to. For Example on my ATA L-1011 flights into Kuwait and Al Kharj, Saudi Arabia, we were ordered to put the shades down, and alwaysland with all the lights off. (most landings are at night)
The same way we always land at PSAB in the E-3, though we have no windows  Wink/being sarcastic

A while back I flew DL SLC-MCO, first class. I had my window shade open and I was told to bring by one of the flight attendants. I didn't ask why! So the shades remained down throughout the flight. I don't know if this was the same for the passenger in couch.
