So... what gives? Emergency landing? Is it just another airline leasing one of Ansett's planes? Any help/explanation appreciated!

This was a charter flight. Avianca has operated a few holiday flights to St Maarten in the past.
These are few and far between, perhaps weekly during the Colombian holiday seasons.
Even odder, it has operated charters to Isla de Sal. Also on a 757.
