American To Maui

Tue Apr 27, 2004 8:30 am

I will be flying american airlines to maui this weekend. I have heard that american has more leg room. Is this true and how much more? Any additional info will also be helpful both negative and positive.

What plane? 767 or 757?

There is no extra legroom on the 57's anymore.

Also, check Americans website. I'm sure they have seat maps and info on their planes Big grin

Would be useful to know your aircraft type. On the 767s you'll have a very nice flight with more room and comfortable seats. On the 757s you won't do as well, as they've recently taken out the extra legroom on this plane, and the seats are still the older green kind, which are uncomfortable even without taking into account the legroom.

Go to http://www.seatguru.com to see your aircraft and the best seats on that aircraft.

Well, I was on the 757-200 from LAX - MCO and I found the 757 to be very comfortable. But, I hear that is not as nice as it was when I flew on the 757 last. I felt the seats on the old 757 the green and pink boxes on them were going to be uncomfortable because they did not have the head reasts like I was use to but they were VERY comfortable for my 4 and a half hour flight. I had the best inflight experiance with leg room on the return flight when I boarded the 737-800 with the new blue seats that are on the 767's, MD80's and the 777's. I had soo much leg room and much comfort ( this was a 5 hr and 15 min flight). Well, I hope this helps and have a great flight with American Airlines. They are a great airline to me and I can not wait till I fly them again. I would like to fly their A300-605r's before they dissappear.

i personally could not tell the difference between MRTC and SRTC.

I assume most all 757s have been converted to SRTC now.

I have flown ORD-OGG on American's B767-300. Pretty comfortable for 9 hour flight. Good service and entertainment. No complaints
