Definitely Southwest, if Airtran does not resume services to SDF.

Southwest at ATL will NEVER happen.

It would be nice to see Swiss - Zurich, KLM - Amsterdam, Alitalia - Rome, Milan, Iberia - Madrid in here to complete the European carrier traffic.

Also there is a very large Brazilian population here in Atlanta now. A Varig nonstop to Sao Paulo or Rio would be a nice addition too.

Singapore! I know there is really no reason for them to open up this market, but it would make spotting there MUCH more interesting to me. I am sure there are other airlines I would enjoy seeing in ATL, but that was the first one to come to my mind.

I wouldn't mind seeing bmi British Midland come in and compete on the ATL-MAN route. Nor would I mind seeing Virgin Atlantic come in on the ATL-LGW route (I think the only Virgin a/c ATL will be seeing in the next few years is Virgin USA). It would be nice to see Swiss come to ATL as well. Alitalia may be coming to ATL in the near future.

jetblue won't come back here. thats about all I can say  Smile

There has been a lot of talk lately about AZ starting up service next year. I guess we'll see what will happen.

Then theres the always standard talk about Ghana starting service to ATL.

I've finally decided that instead of looking for new airlines, I have to look for new aircraft types...

Deltaborn,

You just addressed the very reason that I quit flying Delta, and started getting all of my miles on Star Alliance carriers when UAX started flying into CAE. I had over 400,000 FF miles with Delta, and could not get to Australia with them. I am sure it is possible now with the Skyteam alliance, but it is still not easy. Nevertheless, my UAL miles worked just fine. It's a shame really.

I'm pretty sure that JetBlue learned their lesson about flying into Hartsfield. Don't look for them anytime soon.

So the AS rumor is not so hot and heavy anymore. My guess is that ATL-SEA might be one of the first if not the first new city AirTran announces next year. I wouldn't mind seeing Air Canada return (as opposed to the Air Canada Jazz flights we have @ ATL), but I'm not holding my breath for that one. A few other airlines I wouldn't mind seeing start service to ATL:

Iberia
TAP
Aer Lingus
Canjet
Jetsgo
Mexicana (Not very likely, I just want to see some other metal from South of the Border @ ATL)

The airline (and aircraft) which I would like to come to Atlanta, but would only come is it were to join SlyTeam, which is highly unlikely:

SQ (and i sat next to a guy who worked for SQ and talked to him and they always like to keep their options open - Atlanta is known to them but highly unlikely at the moment, especially if they can't even keep Chicago up and running!)

AirTran and Delta would kick Southwest's butt. It would be the one battle Southwest WOULD lose. I can see Delta and AirTran teaming up for that one.

Perhaps CSA Czech Airlines? I think Prague is the only SkyTeam hub without a direct service to ATL.
