Each raked wingtip on the 764 is approx. 7 feet long, stretching total wingspan to 170 feet from 156. Could this limit the manuvering space for 762/763s at some airports?
Absolutely, I think there are several gates at ATL
where the 767-400 cannot park. This is similar to the MD
-11, for which the winglets eliminated a number of ATL
gates, which the 767, L1011, and had DL
had them at the time , the DC-10 could have used.
