Longest Passenger Jet Aircraft In Service?

Now, how about the longest that any passenger jet a/c has served before being turned into freight a/c or retired?

And the oldest passenger jet aircraft still in service?

I'm talking about revenue airline flights in both cases.

This does *not* include props like the DC-3 this time! Thanks to those who pointed out this a/c being the longest serving of ANY a/c! I'd forgotten about that for a long time.

Sorry if this is creating any confusion, I didn't phrase the original topic right. I don't mean the longest a/c (the 777-300 has the longest fuselage of all passenger a/c). I meant the longest time that any passenger a/c has been in service!

I believe it is the DC-9. Many are still in service. It might also be the 707 or DC-8, I'm not exactly sure, though.

By the way, thanks for replying to me about the Bae 146/Avro RJ and the upcoming Avro RJX. I really appreciate your help. I have one more question:
Do you think the Avro RJX will enter service or no? Just write your answer in the topic I previously wrote.

There are still some 707s operating, so they would be the oldest jetliners since they were, well, first (except for the Convair 880s and 990s which aren't operating, or the DC-8 which also is not used anymore except on an occasional freight route).

The longest jetliner in physical terms, by the by, will be the A340-600, which will be longer than the current record holder 777-300. And of course, who could forget the A3XX-200 which will take the title even from the A340-600.

It would be the 707. Several still operating in Africa and the Middle East is pax service . Cargo variants are everywhere.

DC-8 after the 707 several still in pax operations and tons of cargo variants

CV880/990 was built after the DC-8/707/DC-9 and most retired within 10-15 years of build.

DC-9 and 727 are the oldest still in mainline use today
