The Aircraft You Want To Fly On But Haven't Yet

Sun May 02, 2004 6:37 am

Hello...

I guess this has already been done but hey...

Which is the aircraft you really want to fly on and have not yet done so?

For me it would have to be AF's new 773er (gotta try these new seats as well) and VS 346 (never been on vs yet

As bizarre as this sounds, I want to fly on an ERJ. However, I just can't seem to get on one - for example, I'm flying from EWR-DCA on CO in June. There are multiple flights a day with ERJ's in each direction. The ones that work for my schedule? 735s. I know many of you hate them, but I really want to fly on one! It makes me nuts that I can never seem to get on one.

Yet impossible for now but the A380. And now existing, any 777-300, A345 and A346.

LOL. I'm with ScottishLaddie on this one. I want to go on a 747-400, any airline, even if it has a bad safety rating!!! I just need to get on that plane. I feel so left out that most people have been on one.

For me more than the aircraft it's the seat. I want to fly in FIRST CLASS, most any airline will do.

Cory6188,
I thought of myself when I was reading your post. In my situation I can never get on a 737-300 and it also freaks me out. I've been booked to fly on a 737-300 and either the airline would change the equipment last minute or the booking engine would provide erroneous information regarding the aircraft used during the flight.
As for the list of aircraft that I would like to fly on here it goes:
1. DC 10 or MD 11
2. any DC 9
3. B737-200
4. any A340
5. TU 154

First: The Concorde! I'm so bummed I never went when we had a deal with BA.

Second: I would like to see the Lufthansa A340-600, specifically from a crew stand point, I'm curious about the lower deck lavatories and crew rest area. Kinda cool to have that all out of the cabin.

A DC9 & a DC10, looks like flying Northwest would be my best chance. Problem is Northwest doesn't fly to Australia and their hubs are in cities that I have no real need to visit.

Well I would love to fly in a 777 and I still have yet to have the privilege of flying in an A340 as well.

Cannot wait to fly on the A380 when the time comes, considering my first ever plane trip was on a 747 on Pan Am back in 1975.

Go with the C-172 Flymia...I love that aircraft. I use it in my lessons now. Can't complain a single bit, although I am flying a 2001.

By the way, you need to fly A LOT more, man. You don't seem to have any regional experience.  Big grin

Well why didn't you tell me then? I think I am the one who needs to fly more often!

Heck, I haven't even been out of this country. The biggest plane I can remember flying on is a 757, although I fly out of DFW, usually on American, which usually means MD80. (I have flown MANY times on these.)
Looks like you haven't been on the Concorde though. Now I think the plane I'd like to fly on the most and one that is still in service would be the 777 and then the 747.

Just wait until you start flying yourself. I can't even describe it.

An Airbus A32x! I can't believe I have never been on any Airbus. I have flown US a lot, but we always get a 733 or 734. But, at the end of this month, I will be flying an A320 courtesy of U5. About time!

I finally want to fly on Lufthansa A300-600 D-AIAN ("Nördlingen") or D-AIAT ("Bottrop"). I wait more than years :-(((

Although I am a frequent flyer and very often uses A306 on german or european flights, I havent had this opportunity yet. D-AIAN and D-AIAT are the only 306 I havent flown with yet.
These week I will again use 3x A306, maybe one of these will do my flight!? Does anybody know btw?

Ive always wanted to fly on a 747 on any U.S. carrier, but very rare nowadays. Ive also wanted to fly on a 777 domestic here in the U.S. but there are not any except for UA. That would be fun to fly on.

A DC-8. I've just never been in the right place to get on one. Seems like when I have flown somewhere the only airlines flying there didn't operate DC-8s. The only chance I have now is a cockpit ride in a freighter and my chances of that are slim and none.
