AirTran A320s (Ryan International)

Sun May 02, 2004 12:00 pm

Hello everyone! I am flying two Airtran (ryan) A320s in a few weeks and I want to know what people think of them!

I also had a few questions:

1. Is there IFE on these planes?
2. What kinda inflight/preflight service should I expect?
3. How is the comfort level on these planes?
4. Is the crew from AirTran or Ryan?

Any extra info or experiences shared are appreciated. Thanks so much!

To answer your questions:

1. No IFE at all.
2. Basic LCC inflight service. Drinks and snacks. With the length of the flight, there is two rounds of service.
3. Fine if you're in Business Class, a bit cramped in most of Coach.
4. The crew is Ryan Int'l.

I flew ATL-LAS on them three weeks ago, and here is my trip report on it:

by the way...how long is Air Tran planning to keep the 2 A320`s in their fleet ? I know they suppose to stay until the first B737NG arrive, but when will this happen ? Anybody know...?

Thanks

Flyhigh69,

I believe they have four A320s which they are using. I think they will no longer use them once the 737s come along this summer.

I just flew on a Ryan Air /AirTran A320 the other day in Biz.. its kinda nice.. the seats are a bit more comfy than AirTran's... and the moveable headrest was a definite plus... something I'd need for a longer flight.

The plane i was on was IFE equipped, but I don't think FL uses it..

The FAs are Ryan Air, but wear the AirTran scarf..

The A320s don't go offline until the end of the year. The 737s will work side by side with the A320s this summer. First 737 routes MCO-ATL-DEN-ATL-MCO...

If you are flying to LAX, ground handling and customer service is done by the fine folks at YX.

I wish I was flying to the West Coast but I'm unfortunately only doing MCO-ATL and ATL-MCO for a day trip.

I saw three AirTran (Ryan Intl) A320's in ATL last night. They look pretty interesting next to all the 717s. Enjoy!!
