My vote is for the MD-11 here. There is already twice as many 777s as there are MD-11s. The MD-11 is now a rare bird, as a trijet & as a passenger hauler. And I've always been very comfortable riding on the DC-10/MD-11. So that's why the Mad Dog gets my vote here. Regards.

I have flown on B772, B773 and MD-11 many times... Three good aircrafts but one is definitely the best as a passenger point of view and it is MD-11!! Quieter than B777, excellent performance, excellent cargo capacity and VERY comfortable.
MD-11 also has very unique design and therefore I found it very attractive... I just love the personal sound of those GE engines...music for my ears!
From an Enthusiast point of view the MD-11 fro ma maintenance point of view the 777, but my vote goes to the MD-11 no doubt. Their are way to many boring twins to look all over at so anything sorta different: DC-10,L-1011,747,727 alwyas gets my attention.
While I am a fan of the MD-11, I would still have to say the 777 is by far the better aircraft. I have flown on both numerous times and I have always enjoyed my flight on the 777. One vote for the 777!
Well, considering the DC-10's (oops -- I mean MD-11's) tendency to crash and splatter bits all over the countryside, thanks in part to the redundant hydraulics all apparently run together in one place (unlike the L-1011, an infinitely superior aircraft in all respects), AND thanks in part to the ability of any centrifugal disintegration of the center engine to take out vital controls, AND thanks to the close-from-the-outside (instead of go-inside-and-seal) cargo and passenger doors, I'll vote for ANY non-Russian airliner over the MD-11. Chicago 1979 and Kansas City (don't recall date) or the disintegration of the Turkish airliner (also no date) are all the proof I need. If it's not Boeing, I'm not going. Heck, I'd even take an AA Airbus A-300 if necessary to avoid an MD-11. Pfui.
The Md-11 wins my vote. I know it has a reputation as a bit of a pig, but there is something very special about the MD-11 IMHO I love it for its airframe design, its awesome power and performance (not in range unfortunately) and for the simple fact it is a tri-jet. The 777 is a beast, but why have 2 when you can have 3
Twins, twins, everywhere.... but where are the three holers?
