What's going to replace kerosene when all the oil has run out.

Would a hydrogen plane work and how would the engines and performance of the plane change

Hydrogen has a looooow power/density compared to JetA1, meaning it is very weak. It also requires very special storage, safety, and infrastructure issues.. Remember... the X-33 could not get a composite LH tank to work

Maybe synthetic jet fuel made from ethanol?

We will see fuel cells in cars but for jet turbines there are other options. The only one that I can see as being practical will be biodiesel. From what I understand standard jet turbines can work rather well with some minor modifications. Can somebody shed more light?
