Star Airlines Flying To Beirut This Summer?!

Thu May 06, 2004 6:23 am

I was checking out summer schedules on Aeroports de Paris (ADP) website, for the CDG-BEY sector and came across something rather strange.

Star Airlines, a French airline operating regular and charter flights to "leisure destinations" would be serving BEY this summer starting June 6. The flight would be operated on A320. They currently have 6 A320-214 and 2 A330-243 for Caribbean and Indian ocean islands destinations.

Schedule is as follows and would be considered as a regular flight (see link below)

CDGT1 BEY T Th Sun 17:40 22:35 SEU 200 on A320
BEY CDGT1 M W F 02:20 05:30 SEU 201 on A320

This news was somewhat confirmed when I checked out their site, it says Lebanon still needs government approval.

Has anybody got a clue about these news? Is it Nakhal or Tania Travel who are chartering these aircrafts. Your input is welcome !

Regards

Beirut gets so many charters in the summer. This really isn't anything unusual.

BA,

if you read well their link (in French unfortunately), it is said that BEY would become a regular destination.

anyways, 3 times a week for a single operator isn't big though?

GoMEA,

They are probably scheduled charters and not actual regular scheduled flights.

Schedule charters are very common in Beirut.

I just checked Amadeus and the flights are not showing up. That either means Star Airlines does not use CRS systems for regular scheduled flights they operate, or it is a scheduled charter.

Yeah, probably you're right because I checked too amadeus and it didn't show up.

I wonder whether the 3x weekly flights are gonna be French tourists or just Lebanese going to/back to Lebanon?

Does Nakhal for example use charter flights in the summer to CDG?

I went to RHO on Lotus Air once but I wonder for France if they don't just use regular flights (especially the AF744).

Ciao

The flights do not surprise me one bit. They will encourage more people to fly. In fact they will allow MEA to serve customers more efficiently (MEA is always overbooked during the summer to CDG)
