AN-225 At IAH

Thu May 06, 2004 10:40 am

I haven't a clue as to how long it's been there, or if it's still there now.... But as I was driving down Lee Road from FM 1960, I glanced over at the north end of the cargo ramp and there it was....

It actually left last night, so I am assuming that you just forgot to post this yesterday. It was here for about 5 days, and then departed today with a flight plane to Shannon, although I doubt it is going to Shannon, it will probably just re-file a plan when it gets close.

It was there as of 0800hrs CDT May 5.(I was going in to bid, so I used short term parking instead of the employee lot.) I haven't been by that area during daylight in over a month. Perhaps the big boy had a Mx issue that delayed it's departure??

Last week, the Antonov went from Palma to Portugal to Bangor to Las Vegas. I have no idea why it is in IAH or even what it is doing in the US. Is it hauling freight for revenue? What is so dang big it takes an AN-225 to haul it out of Palma? Coconuts?
