LAB Expands Cuba Service

Fri May 07, 2004 2:00 am

I shortened and translated below, news about LAB's expansion of service to Cuba. I didn't even know LAB had 757s - does anyone know how many? Or is this another editorial editor, though I don't know what other airplane they have that seats 180 pax.

LAB, the Bolivian airline, plans to double its service from Bolivia to Cuba. The airline will operate twice weekly, from the current weekly service, on the route Santa Cruz – Panama – Havana, operating on Thursdays and Sundays, operating with a 180 seat 757.

Its going to be really nice to see a 757 in LB's colors.

According to the last rumours heared here in MEx they wanted to get 1 757 or the 3rd 767 and fly it to MEx instead of the current 727 flight. But looks like LB finally made a decision to get instead a 757. At the end they won't have problems flying that 757 since pilots from 767 are certified to fly that aircraft also!

A twice weekly sound like they'll have time to fly it to MEx 5x!

New fleet and new destinations?
Good for LB! I think they are doing very well and the airline seems to be upgraded.
But ghost, sorry to disagree, but IMHO, no aircraft looks good in current LB colors! Is one of VASP worst influence over LB! I think they should get own colors, flying the colorful Bolivia around!

Now that the airline is apparently doing good, they should spend some time and money to re-design a more modern and fresh image. Advertisement is obviously an important level, which is, in my opinion, not being supported much by the current turquoise scheme.
