Aerorepublica And Aeropostal To Codeshare?

Sat May 08, 2004 3:53 am

Hey all,

Just read an article on La Republica. It says Aerorepublica will start its flights to Caracas and Quito with a deal with Aeropostal. It doesn't state how the agreement works, but maybe this means we could see more cooperation of different routes in the future? Could Aeropostal operate flights to MIA/MCO for Aerorepublica?

Wouldn't suprise me if you see the two integrated altogether. Nelson Ramiz, the owner of Aeropostal, is a shareholder in AeroRepublica (and Sol Air and AeroGal). In a presentation he gave at the AvNews CEO Conference, he presented a route map entitled Aeropostal Americas that showed one, integrated airline operating hubs from CCS, BOG, SJO and GYE (I believe his long term plan is to minimize Sol Air in favor of an SJO-based airline).

That would be a great idea. Kind of another LAN/Taca... I guess it would be benefitial, especially for P5.

I dunno, minimizing Sol Air and transferring it to SJO? Well I think its okay, but a lot of people won't be happy; just what we needed another airline for CR.
nice and spacious airports in need of new airlines and flights... GUA or FRS anyone?... anyone at all?

Sol Air is tiny as it is, I don't think it's hard to minimize it much more. They've pulled service to MGA, leaving SAP and TGU as their sole route network.
