Last April, I took a UPS charter from BOS to NAS. During our layover, wherever the heck it was, I went up to the flight deck for a great deal of time.
I sat in Captain's seat while the First Officer showed me all the new things that UPS has added.
As someone already stated, they have added TCAS, removed most of the analog displays and replaced them with the digital ones and they have HUDs. However, UPS hasn't added autoland because they believe the pilot should land the aircraft.
I guess all these upgrades come rather cheaply for UPS because they now own Apollo Technologies (a maker of EFIS instruments).
I have pictures of the cockpit, but I'm unable to put them up because Kodak only puts them on the PictureCD when you initially develop them.
Most of what's been said about modifying the 727s are correct. In fact, UPS has added brand-new engines on them. I don't remember if my 727 had winglets...
