Carnival was horrible! Late Late Late. Your best bet is the website. You should do a project on how that Airport has grown and will continue to do so!

I lived near ISP for 30 years and these are the airlines I remember seeing at ISP over the years.

United (727's)
Braniff (727's)
Carnival (737's)
Pan Am (727's)
Eastern (727's and I think 757's)
Midway (F-100's)
Spirit Airlines (MD-80's and DC-9's)
Northwest Airlink (Saab 340's)
Delta Express (737-200's)
Northeastern (I don't remember what they used)
New York Air (I don't remember what they used)

American Airlines (Today it's just American Eagle)
US Airways (Today it's just US Aiways Express)

IslipWN-

I had flown USAir from PIT about 10 years ago in a DC-9..have seen AA 727s. F100s and MD-80s. I also remember a Presidential Airlines (not sure who they were) BAE-146 around 1989 or so.

Dragon-Wings-

NW Airlink used to serve ISP? do you know if they were just doing BOS runs? I know Precision had flights to BOS from Farmingdale with DO-228s

hope my info helps a little bit

Yes I definatly remember seeing NW Airlink at ISP, but I don't know where they flew from here.

I think I remember Presidential Airlines, the name sounds familiar now that you mentioned it but I can't remember what the livery looked like.

I heard also that TWA used to serve ISP for a short time.
It's interesting that Airtran served ISP. Why did they pull out and where did they go beside ATL?

I dont think AIrTran served ATL from ISP, this was before the Valujet merger...I think they only did Florida turns...

I'm pretty sure that Northwest's flights to Boston were aboard Business Express (Delta Connection) Saab-340s.

I remember when both American & United operated week day nonstops to Chicago from ISP using 727s. This was specifically for the business market.

Mohawk also flew into ISP Along with Allegheny before the two merged. I flew from PHL to ISP on a Allegheny CV580 years ago.

Southwest is a huge player there now. In fact aren't they expanding the ISP terminal or something? Or was that a rumor.

Piedmont also flew to ISP, but I left those airlines out because they became USAir/US Airways.

Shuttle America is another airline that flew to ISP. They flew Dash-8's here.

747s never come into ISP. The runway is way too short and not thick enough to hold a 747.

Yes they are expanding the terminal. When it's done Southwest will have 3 or 4 more gates. I drove past the airport this past Friday, and it is coming along nicely.

Yes, ISP couldn't handle the big 747. Yep the WN terminal looks nice. IFP is following ISPs footsteps! I can't wait to see that airport this winter!

IslipWN's A vs B post got killed. Was good while it lasted.
