"No Frills" London To Capetown & Durban

Wed May 12, 2004 12:02 am

I was heartened to hear a new airline (www.civair.com) is flying London to Cape Town 3 times a week and London to Durban twice a week.

I heard the fares are staring at R1,999 one way (about £160) which is pretty cheap. They are starting operations on 30 October and during the Christmas period they still have seats at these prices.

Does anybody know what plans they are using on the route?

Did Nationwide want to start operations from DUR to LON (LGW?) with their 763?

Hi Angus!
Nationwide dont fly direct Cape Town London but use their domestic
Cape Town Johannesburg flight to connect with their 763 to Gatwick
They are doing well on the route
Cheers!

Hi Angus!
All I can say is be careful
All they have at the moment is a licence to operate
According to someone in Civil Aviation here they will operate a 747-200
ZS-MUM
From what I hear the aircraft is somewhere in the UK awaiting someone
to do a C check

Cheers!
Tony
