Those headrests really clash with the fabric. Hmmmmm.

Headrests look very tacky. That cheap vinyl look to them.

The colour is fine--besides who really cares what the seats "look like" on a 15 plus hour ULH flight--it's all about comfort--which I hope these have plenty of and I am sure they do--

By looking the headrests I would never have guessed this was an AC bird!! I don´t think that green was the best choice!!

Cayman, I don't disagree with you. I know AC has a fine J class product, and I wouldn't hesitate to try it out one day, given the chance. But image is part of the deal when you spend the kind of money that a J class ticket costs, and I just can't get impressed by the photo, when compared to other J class cabins. I will admit though, that it could be just the picture itself, so I'm looking forward to seeing other pictures of this cabin once they are available.

Cheers, Nuno.

Nuno---you have a point--image is important I guess---but I do think it looks pretty good all in all--

But, for example, don't get me wrong---this is not a crticism of AA--I fly them all the time and love AA---but the J class cabin on an AA 777 "looks" great---but to be honest---the seat is not nearly as comfortable as the AC seat--even the old AC seat---

So to me--I guess you're right--you want a seat that both looks "classy" and is comfortable---but comfort trumps looks for me---

I like the 'modern' look in planes. In a way, it brings air travel back to the glory days, where you get that you are flying the transportation of the future. A+ for Air Canada.

Is it me or aren't there any overhead carryon bins in the middle section?? It almost looks like a mini-Tristar!

2+2+2 in 1.st on a 345?
Should be 2+1+2 or 1+2+1. The SA cabin looks much better. I'd be rather disappointed with so little personal space as in that AC interior when flying long haul on 1.st

Mikkel777, it's business class, not first class, so the space provided is very competitive with other business class services. And regarding the overhead bins, it's not necessary to have middle overhead bins in J class, because there is more than enough storage on the side bins for the few seats in that section. Plus, it gives a greater impression of more space for the passengers.

That shot of the LH new J class is amazing. The AC cabin does look a bit more pedestrian in comparison. However one thing is missing from the cabin you would see on a 777/747....a middle seat! Would you plunk down the thousands of bucks it takes to get that seat and sit in the middle? I wouldn't.

Actually the capture says 1st class. If it really is 1st class it looks really shabby.

The caption is incorrect, Air Canada does not offer First Class on any aircraft. Just Business Class and Economy. The products are different though with regard to International Business vs. Domestic Business Class, as is the case with most carriers.

For example J on the B767 is 2-2-2 Domestic and 2-2-1 (or 1-2-2) for International Business Class.

The seat colour is ... well sigh, typical Air Canada. Called Spruce Green, it graces all of our aircraft from the CL-65 to the B747-400. No, it is not my first choice either, but they tell me it is .... restful. (oh yeah?)
Just because I stopped arguing, doesn't mean I think you are right. It just means I gave up!

My goodness that's ugly! Perhaps it will look better with pillows and blankets.

It doesn't look restful or inviting.

I wonder if the cabin might look better if the cabin had the maple leaf and green bulkheads in the rear of the cabin--as used in other equipment in the Air Canada fleet.

That makes sense, looks like a pretty standard biz class. With a 2class config and the routes the 345 are made for, a more decent biz-class wouldn't hurt, like SQ or VS are offering. (I've not tried any of those, just comment on the way they look) Big grin

Well with Air Canada's choice of seat colour it looks as if they had plans to get a quick sale from Aer Lingus.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

I would have absolutley no problem with that idea.

I believe the color is called "Atlantic Green" and yeah, it's not too pretty but it looks a bit better in real life than it does in the picture. The economy class is decked out in a similar fashion and is actually quite comfortable and pleasant.

Am amending the comments, thanks for pointing out the mistake.

For those of you surprised by AC's seat colors well... they've been having green seats for maybe 12-14 years now. This is no surprise to me. Personally, I find it a change from the boring blue of most airlines seats and yes, it's actually very relaxing.(Better than what C3 had... or Wardair's roll of life-savers).

Regards.

They call it "Executive First" on International flights. With 60" seat pitch and all the other amenities, how does this differ from other airlines First Class?

Lyzzard -

Corporately speaking, the interior colour is known as "Sea Moss". My understanding is that it was an interim colour, and once AC emerges from CCAA, I wouldn't be surprised to see the whole fleet undergo an image change. There are still a slew of ex-CP aircraft flying around with drab grey and blue interiors.

Who would ever think that a seat colour could activate such an array of emotions? ("What a disturbing choice of seat colour"). Maybe all of you design gurus need to send the folks in from Trading Spaces or the Decorating Challenge to makeover the aircraft for $1000.00.

I agree with FLYACYYZ--it is fun to watch such an array of emotional responses to seat colour! I am not criticizing--each to his own--but as I said above I'd trade comfort for asthetics any time.

Rod's point is a good one though--successful emergence from CCAA might necessitate an "image update". Maybe they'd even re-do the livery as well to try to bring a "fresh new start" although I hope not--it would be costly and unnecessary---the outside of the a/c look great to me even if many of you seem to have such strong reactions to the inside!

Cheers--

In the interest of all concerned.

We don't want you to be sick. We don't want you to be disturbed. We don't want you to be haunted by El Al. Your happiness and tranquility is paramount.

Love to have you on board, but maybe you need an airline who offers pretty seats, that wont give you nightmares.
