BA certainly does employ both male and female cabin cabin crew from Bangladesh. Out of the four flights I took with them last year, each flight had one bengali steward and one stewardess. The male f/a wear the usual uniform as all other male f/a's, while the female f/a wears a saree. The motivation and friendliness of the Bengali cabin crew really amazed me : they were on their feet althrough the flight, serving pax and looking after those who were not proficient in english, while on the other hand, all the British ones dissapeared to the galley once the meal was served, only to return back again for breakfast two hours prior to landing.
On one of the flights, I was sitting in the exit row beside an elderly Bengali man from Sylhet, and prior to landing, the bengali male f/a sat across the jump seat facing us. The elderly gentleman started to talk to the f/a, questioning him about which region of Bangladesh he was from, his religion, how much he earned, his level of education, how many brothers and sisters he had....blah...blah...and finally, he says ' I have a very pretty daughter who is currently studying medicine, and i am looking for a groom for her. Would you be interested?'. Hearing this, the f/a went totally red, and said he was already seeing someone else, and thanked him for the offer! It was so hilarious that I broke down into laughter during landing, and the man goes, ' Yes, I am so glad to return back home too!!'. Thank God he didnt realise what I was really laughing about.
