How To Book Cheap AI Fares LON-DEL?

Fri May 14, 2004 8:19 am

Hi,

a friend of mine told me that he wants to AI LON-DEL 10 Sep-20 Apr around and asked me where to get a cheap booking. I checked the web, and the fares offered by AI there are tremendously expansive, and their webpage does not indicate a fare... so I couldn't help him

Does anyone of you know a good webpage or agent in order to perform the booking? He really wants to try AI, he told me. I am sure s/o of you knows some good reference... Thanks! Help appreciated...

Hi,

I hope I'm not stating something too obvious here, but have you tried calling a travel agency? I bet that there'll be one or two travel agencies in London specialising in travel to India, so they might be a good place to start.

Regards,

Yeah, go to a travel agency, they often offer less expensive fees!

For all ex-London airfares, you could try ebookers.

AI charges 536 GBP for a return flight leaving LHR on sep 10th.

Never argue with idiots. They will bring you down to their level, and beat you with experience.

Go to Hounslow, there's a bunch of bucket shops around the high street and in the pedestrianised bit, that I hear do great fares to the Subcontinent. Try Greaves Travel in London for BA, they specialise in India as well, and have substantial inventory on BA reserved exclusively for their use.

Try private airlines website such as Jetairways, Sahara, Indian Airlines etc. Also try Amadeus.com or something similar to it.

Try private airlines website such as Jetairways, Sahara, Indian Airlines etc.

Considering that none of them fly to London, thats kinda silly if you want to buy a LHR-DEL itinerary isn't it?

I am sorry. I thought that it was Indian domestic tkt. Well try Virgin, EK, Qatar or GF they have good fares once in a while. LX could be CHEAP sometimes.

Tell your friend, if he wants to keep his sanity, book on BA from LHR-DEL or connect via many European cities. AI sucks, especially if you are indeed an Indian.

AI believes in treating western passengers well, and Indians like crap.
Believe me, I have experienced it, and now never travel on AI!

I live here in Delhi, and from my friends few experiences on AI when they HAD to travel internationaly, they say AI is the worst airline they have ever flown. Definetly go BA, AF, LH or perhaps EK. AI does have the best connections to Delhi however, and the best times of arrival. All of BA's, AF's, LH's etc. flights arrive and leave in the time frame of 11pm-2am.

hope he has a great trip.

My experiences on AI have always been pleasant. True, they are not as good as SQ, BA or LH, but they sure are way better than most American carriers and some other European ones as well.

I'd rather fly some above-average third world carrier like AI than fly in some snooty-high browed first world carrier that treats you like garbage.

Maybe they just found your attitude to be fucked up and decided to treat you accordingly?  Smile

Who are you, the CEO of Air-India?
Another thing, your use of cuss words on this forum just shows how juvenile you are!

I had bad and good experiences on AI. I loved my latest flight on VT-EVA. It was way better than AA, UA, DL, CO, or NW.
