KE's Prague Service -- How Long?

Fri May 14, 2004 8:41 pm

Hey Everyone,

This is my first ever topic start here at a.net! I've been a long time reader and its about time I actually signed up!

Anyway so KE's serivice to PRA starts tomorrow (Saturday) with an A330 three times a week. I'm having a lot of trouble actually seeing the loads on this flight as being good. Can anyone either agree with me or at least comfort me that these flights will be successful. With this linking both OK and KE hubs there is certainly a market to connect passengers from Eastern Europe and North East Asia together... but really will it work!?

Cheers!

dear jfkYYZ, i don't know about this flight myself, but alll i know is that i just saw a TV documentation about the eastern european countries and that they have a lot of immigrants from asia, so for sure it includes koreans as well.. so i think it will work, and not to forget that they are both "Sky Team" members....

and BTW, prague is PRG  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

greets

Just had a quick look through our system for the next few weeks and the ICN-PRG flight is more than 90% booked for Y class and 70% for C class. PRG-ICN is not so full for the first few weeks but then bookings seem to pick up.

I see no reason why it can't be a successful route but a lot of it depends on marketing the destination as an alternative European destination to the Koreans.

Cheers!

Heh, sorry and thanks for the info guys! I guess there is traffic between ICN and PRG, maybe one of these days I'll get on one of those flights!

Flykal, is there anyway you can confirm or not KE will do ICN-WAW flights? I thought i saw some articles on news websites about a flight like this of some sort.

Cheers!

I think the ICN-WAW announcement was one of them justplanes.com bloopers. Seeing that KE is the first to link Asia Pacific with Prague, this strategic link should do well, e.g. tourists ex-Korea, Japan, Hong Kong etc. On the other end, OK provides some feed from central+eastern Europe in addition to the Czech-originating traffic. Yields may not be fantastic, but the numbers should be there.
