It's Official:Canada 3000 Plans Return To Skies!

Sun May 16, 2004 4:45 am

I know this was discussed before, but I could not locate it in the archives. According to a reputable weekly journal, a "new" Canada 3000 Airlines plans a return to the skies in December, operating two Boeing 757s to Mexico and the Caribbean. According to an airline spokesperson, a group of employees decided to relaunch the carrier.

Good news, but they'll never be what they once were, a comprehensive route network, A330s, A340s etc.  Sad

I can't wait to see this one pushed back, just like a few other recent startups that keep getting pushed back constantly.  Big grin

But I do wonder, what will they offer that will distinguish themselves from competitors, and increase their chance at survival?

It is very good to bring it back with Canada 3000 into the air again.

According to their website they will be flying out of YHM, to the Carribean, Mexico and the US. I hope that they will succed but wish they had chosen a more original name than Canada 3000.

Why would they need to distinguish themselves? In the package/charter market where the travel wholesalers buy the airline seats, airline image/identity is less important than for carriers who sell seats directly to the public. As long as they are efficient and reliable, they do not need to distinguish themselves.
I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.

From their web site, the tail on the plane looks awesome....the rest...well is the rest.

Good news, I wish them luck for many years to come.

Canada 3000 will start flying December 15, 2004 with 2 Boeing 757s.

That's a very exact date on their website!  Big grin I hope they make it.

Now, if they could only resurrect our Flying Goose friend... CANADIAN!

That will happen when AC folds later this year.

Back to the topic though...I think that the Canadian aviation industry is growing too fast. Adding another airline, albeit charter, will contribute to futher a surplus in an already saturated industry. I wish C3 all the best, but remain hesitant as to whether they will succeed in a) launching on Dec 15; b) attracting and retaining customers, in light of 2 years ago; and c) operate in a highly-expensive industry that is heavily regulated by the Feds.

good to see Canada 3000 plans on going to FLL. It will be a welcomed sight, they were #2 to fly Canada-FLL, and they were missed.
Also, in the summer they plan to go to the UK...STN specifically...they, for some reason, have all airlines to STN on their website.
NEXT FLIGHT: FLL-ATL-HPN on FL

Thanks Vrefplus5

That seem like a lot of initial routes to start with im really interested in the flights over seas could really open up some doors. No I noticed that they have Toronto/Hamilton as the cities do you think they are going to fly from both or just have yet to decide on an airport? Well once again I don't want to get too excited over this.

I know that nobody has been talking about this latly but I just tried to go onto the Canada 3000 site. I went on to Proposed Routes page but all I got was this.

How much more airlines does this country need, with the ones we have now having a hard time as it is. It almost seems like there is not enough room for all these planes.

Agh, I originally thought those engines were red. The pink looks bad. Change it to red, much better.  Smile

Great news, I do hope this airline is successful.

a 404 is a File Not Found error, but Apache (the webserver) returned a privileges message also, which basically says that you do not have anonymous access to the folder listing of "routes"
