Hat Off To SN Brussels Airlines

Sun May 16, 2004 6:10 pm

Although I think they could have dreamed up a better name for the airline, SN certainly deserve credit for their service, punctuality, the friendliness of their staff both on the ground and in the air and for their aircraft which are always clean and comfortable. I was on a 319 on thursday BRU-LGW and I'll be returning to Brussels later on today on one of their Avro's. Its always a positive experience on SN. Congratulations.
I never think of the future - it comes soon enough.

I heard already a lot of good comments about SNBA, so it must be true  Smile

Keep on going SNBA like that and the rest will follow.

Yeah, I heard SN is awesome. I was hoping to fly them between BRU and VIE or BRU and BUD, but the times didn't quite work out, so I had to choose Austrian Air. I definately want to fly SN someday though!

What SNBA have done in two years is nothing short of a miracle!
They're actually improving their service (which was great anyways...) when everyone else is cutting back. The fact that they're taking so long to open new routes clearly indicates that their main focus is profitability and not quantity.

SN Brussels Airlines is amongst the 24 finalists for the 2004 Airline Excellence Awards, the global recognition of outstanding Quality Excellence for airline front-line product and customer service standards.

The Awards were initiated by Skytrax, the world's premier airline quality rating organization.

SN Brussels Airlines will be competing for the key Airline Excellence Award title of World's Best Airline!

The Belgian Airline will also compete in sub-categories for the 2004 regional Excellence Awards which cover:
Best airline - Africa
Best Airline - Europe

Globally unique, and providing the true mark of airline Quality Excellence, the Awards are based on the most comprehensive analysis of airline product and service standards.

The qualitative judging of Awards utilizes a Product and Service agenda - encompassing more than 800 different rating aspects. The selection panel comprises 4 directors of Skytrax, with 11 of the company's audit staff also reporting their final assessments and recommendations.

Airline Excellence Awards honour those airlines offering the highest Quality standards to passengers across all spheres. For example, a great First Class service that may be countered by poor standards in the Economy cabin does not qualify for recognition.

The Awards distinguish airlines that offer highest quality levels to "all" their passengers - and equally important, the airlines that deliver this highest quality on a consistent basis.
Therefore, an airline providing top-quality product standards on just a small proportion of their aircraft fleet does not qualify for consideration in the final judging.

2004 Airline Excellence Awards finalists:

Air Tahiti Nui
All Nippon Airways
Asiana Airlines
Austrian Airlines
Bangkok Airways
Cathay Pacific
China Airlines
Dragonair
Emirates
EVA Air
Japan Airlines
JetBlue Airways
Korean Air
Malaysia Airlines
Qantas
Qatar Airways
Singapore Airlines
SN Brussels Airlines
South African Airways
SriLankan Airlines
Swiss
TAM Brazilian
Thai Airways
Virgin Atlantic

Interesting list Sabenapilot. Thanks for that. I too would like to congratulateth SN. SNBA has significantly improved their inflight service since their start up, already 2.5 years ago. Recently I went on an A319 to BCN, and was amazed by the effort the cabin crew and catering department (LSG Skychefs) had put in such a short flight.

Back to the list,

It's been said numerous times before, but this list clearly illustrates that American carriers are far behind the rest of the world, as far as inflight service goes. The exception being Jetblue, a low cost airline! If that doesn't tell you something...
